Power Operational Electrical Engineer

Job Location: Hillsboro, OR
Shift: Mon-Fri; 8am-5pm
Pay: $30 /hour 

Tactical skills needed:

  • Skilled in Electrical Modeling Software like EZPower, SKM, eTab, etc.

  • Asset Management software like Maximo, etc.

  • Knowledge and experience with IT (network) topologies.

  • Low / Medium voltage

  • Operations experience as an electrical engineer a PLUS.


We are looking for an electrical engineer preferable with medium voltage, controls, and data center electrical infrastructure experience to join our building operations team. Our team manages the facilities operations for the buildings, labs, and data centers in our Hillsboro (Oregon) campus. The electrical engineer will manage the operations and maintenance of our electrical and facilities systems. Experience with Fire and Life Safety systems will be valued. This electrical engineer will also participate in the design and construction of a newly approved large greenfield Data Center Lab project and own it afterward for sustaining support.

As a JF/HF Electrical Engineer - System Owner your responsibilities will include but are not 
limited to:

  • Own the health of the facilities equipment including all preventative, corrective maintenance, and projects they own. Job plan development for preventive or corrective maintenance.

  • Manage O and M performance indicators based on a data validation of system performance.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts via structured problem-solving methodologies, coordinate system shutdowns, conduct breaker coordination, and arc flash studies.

  • Mindful of impacts of electrical system shutdowns on other areas.

  • Manage electrical load and capacity data.

  • Report out findings and proposed solutions to management.

  • Drive operational excellence and maintenance adherence to assure system uptime.

  • Identify system upgrades and lead scope.

  • Review electrical design specifications, submittals, studies, and drawings, for power installations in data centers, test floors, labs, and general office areas.

  • Serve as a member of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) responding to power outages/disturbances and lead the recovery effort. Such an emergency response may require to provide after-hours on-site support.

Qualifications:

  • You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

  • Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must possess at least one of the following:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power/utilities systems with 4 -6+ years of experience in a facilities environment.

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power/utilities system, with 2-3+ years of experience in a facilities environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE registration, or an EIT certification.

  • 3+ years of working knowledge of NEC code and MEP processes.

  • 1+ years of experience in medium voltage
